Chartered Engineer’s Certificate (CEC)
Chartered Engineer’s Certification and Inspection is a mandatory requirement for exporting used equipment and machinery to India. The inspection process consists of an initial Operation Test followed by a Packing Inspection. It covers the operating condition of used machinery, estimated remaining service life, market value assessment, detailed inspection of equipment components, quantity verification, and packaging condition.
CEC inspections must be conducted by an inspection agency authorized by the Government of India. The certificate issued after inspection is one of the mandatory documents required for customs clearance in India. Without the required certificate, customs clearance cannot be completed.
CERINS is a registered member of the Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI), the relevant professional institution in India, and has engineers recognized by IEI who are qualified to issue CECs independently. In addition, supported by its Korean office and an international network of branches and agents, CERINS provides inspections tailored to customer requirements in locations worldwide.
